Apply Now Hospital Name PIH Health Whittier Hospital Location Whittier, California Job Type Full-Time/Regular Job ID 26174-977The Director of Palliative Care and Hospice has 24-hour responsibility and accountability for operations over the Palliative Care and Hospice Program.Works with Vice President, Post-Acute Care Services, Senior Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS), and staff to improve the quality of care, strengthen the financial performance, and to improve patient, physician, and employee satisfaction. Assumes responsibility for connecting Palliative and Hospice services to other PIH Health programs/services where the synergy and complementary nature of such services reach the goals and mission of PIH Health. Also accountable for the development and integration of social services programs for Post-Acute Care Services. Leads by example. Works with the team to reduce infrastructure and to promote high value performance.This is an exempt management position.

- Demonstrated skills and experience in the provision, supervision, and management of various clinical and social services program.
- Personal computer skills and knowledge of applicable software programs
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, social work, or health care administration
- Palliative and Hospice Certification required or to be obtained within two years of employment in this role
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a home health agency, primary care, or health facility
- Experience within palliative care, hospice, social work, and chronic care management
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in nursing, social work, or health care administration
- Two or more years of leadership experience
- Evidence of continuing education
- Current California driver's license and valid auto insurance
