POSITION SUMMARY

The Rheumatology NP/PA works closely with the supervising physician to coordinate a course of treatment for patients: perform histories, complete physical exams, order labs and interpret data to formulate a diagnosis or treatment plan for a variety of rheumatic diseases while working with an inter-disciplinary team of nurses, dieticians, surgeons and pathologists. The Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will act as an expert in Rheumatology disease management and prevention.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated expertise in Rheumatologic diagnoses: assessment, intervention, and patient care management. Knowledgeable regarding Rheumatology scope of practice.
• Experience in the interpretation of radiological exams including x-ray, MRI, CT, etc.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.
• Independent performer.

Required Experience

• Current California Nurse Practitioner license or California Physician Assistant License
• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner /Physician Assistant School
• One to three (1-3) years direct patient care clinical rheumatology experience
• Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements
• Board Certification: Board certified
