Apply Now Hospital Name PIH Health Whittier Hospital Location Whittier, California Job Type Full-Time/Regular Job ID 26007-977The Surgery Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all functions related to surgical/ procedural scheduling and block management under the direction of the clinical directors for assigned areas (OR, SDS, Pre-Op, GI, SPD). This includes scheduling surgical/GI cases, providing excellent customer service, ensuring efficiency, maintaining safety, and upholding quality assurance standards. The Supervisor leads a team of scheduling staff who support various specialties and departmental functions. Creates and maintains standardized workflows for procedural/ operating room scheduling. Collaborates closely with various departments, working directly with clinical leaders, surgeons, anesthesiologists, clinical coordinators, staff, registration clerks, financial counselors, surgeon office schedulers/managers, scheduling analysts, and other operational stakeholders to ensure consistent service to patients.

Required Skills
- Requires a thorough understanding of surgical scheduling that aligns with both inpatient and outpatient surgery/procedural department workflows & operations
- Must have the ability to independently plan, schedule, and organize while responding appropriately to a wide range of situations and subjects
- Knowledgeable about the tasks performed by the staff they supervise
- Strong Leadership and organizational skills
- Demonstrates the ability to objectively appraise and analyze the qualifications and performance of others, as well as the ability to plan and direct their activities
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, meet deadlines, multi-task, and solve problems under a high degree of pressure
- Expertise in computer applications including Microsoft Office, Allscripts eScheduling, Access Manager & SSC
- Medical terminology knowledge
Required Experience
Required:
·High school diploma
·Minimum of 4 years hospital surgery scheduling experience
Preferred:
·Bachelor’s degree
·Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in surgery scheduling
